This Friday Fakeaway Burger & Fries is a proper weekend winner - juicy, satisfying and way better than a takeaway! Really quick to make and high in protein, it's the perfect recipe when you want that comfort food fix but don't want the calories from a takeaway.

Guidance: Get ready to get messy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 x brioche bun

  • 120g 5% lean beef mince

  • 100g crinkle cut chips

  • 50g sliced tomato

  • 40g pickled gherkin

  • 1 x slice spicy cheese

  • 10g iceberg lettuce

  • 20g ketchup

  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

  • Paprika or peri-peri salt for chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oven and pop the oven chips in

  2. Season the mince with salt and pepper, and mould into two balls

  3. Warm a frying pan until VERY hot. Reduce the temp slightly, spray with fry light then put balls into the pan and squash down to make the smash patties.

  4. Cook until browned on both sides.

  5. Toast the bun in the pan.

  6. Compile your burger. Take the chips out the oven. Serve both and enjoy!
